FAQ

What is a dental crown?

A dental crown is a custom permanent moulding - ours are made from milled ceramic blocks - that fit over a damaged, cracked or weakened tooth, and is applied for aesthetic and strengthening reasons, or to be able to fit dental implants. Can be used in conjunction with veneers for a smile makeover.

How long does a dental crown take?

Our CEREC machine means we can take a digital scan of your tooth, craft the dental crown at our clinic, and then custom fit it over your tooth, all within the same day, often within a few hours. If a dental clinic doesn’t offer a CEREC machine or CAD CAM technology, you will typically have to wait up to two weeks for the crown to be made and delivered to your clinic, then a second appointment will need to be made, for it to be fitted.

The cost starts from $1950, which will see you in and out of our spa-like clinic within the day. We offer payment plans, which you can read about here.

Do dental crowns hurt?

You might experience some discomfort, but local anaesthetic will ensure you’re not in any pain during the dental crown procedure. Our Netflix and noise cancelling headphones will likely prove a great distraction too.

How long do dental crowns last?

With proper care dental crowns can last up to 15 years or more. Regular dental check-ups and maintaining good oral hygiene can significantly contribute to the longevity of dental crowns.
